She was a runner. But now she is very overweight and inactive. She is not nasty or bitter or mean. She is friendly and fun and lovely. I just wish she was healthy.

Steven's family doesn't seem to approve of our running.kilaxhttp://www.ilaxstudio.com/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-91763909017519045322010-01-28T17:05:07.965-07:002010-01-28T17:05:07.965-07:00this is a cool "mini-series" deal!

What a great post you have today...great topic.

I am going to steal Tony's thought...I would try to inspire my fourteen year old daughter Kay to run more. She started to run 5ks with me this summer and fall and did very well but she could be even better if she trained! I am hoping that she gives cross country a try next year! Another person who I would love to inspire is my 45 year old cousin who wants to get in shape and loose a little weight. She hears me talk about running and gets details about many of my races. I know that secretly she would love to start but is afraid of not staying commited:)

Have a great day Christina!Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01016242849142019105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-21996490753428004542010-01-27T04:22:26.071-07:002010-01-27T04:22:26.071-07:00Sorry for the delay. I know that each of them wants to try, but they are so self-defeating that they never make it more than a week or two. They swear they aren't made for running and I just want to kick them in the face and be like, well, I wasn't either and here I am two marathons laterTMB @ RACING WITH BABEShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12670409852045798697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-49844676465976713752010-01-26T12:28:33.310-07:002010-01-26T12:28:33.310-07:00Great, question 2! If he has inherited my genetics (cholesterol & blood pressure) it would be a great thing for him to start young.

He has run a few 5k's but after the race is over so is his running. It must be nice to be so young and be able to run a 5k with no training.

I just hope my dedication to running will someday inspire him and he can realize the benefits for himself.Running Through Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07444503925395669478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-89757799475029431142010-01-26T11:07:30.786-07:002010-01-26T11:07:30.786-07:00MOTHERS (especially those with young families). She worked out with me a few years ago and lost 25lbs in 3 months, then she gave up. She has been trying to get preggo for the last 2yrs, the Dr told her if she lost some weight it would up her chances. She is just very defeated. I think if she would just try it she would be hooked.Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10718941510641631363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-62240506934961486132010-01-26T10:38:04.594-07:002010-01-26T10:38:04.594-07:00My husband and a friend. I told him I wansn't registering him for any more races because 1) they are expensive and 2) he doens't take it seriously. He needs to lose about 25 lbs and running is a great way to do it but he just doesn't want it bad enough I guess.

I also wish I could inspire my girlfriend to run. She is overweight and wants to run but doens't make the time. She also uses asthma as an excuse. I've stopped asking her to run races with me because I know how it will end up.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00082536183912603694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-37701070843713980112010-01-26T08:53:53.721-07:002010-01-26T08:53:53.721-07:00I would get my best friend to run, partly because ...I would get my best friend to run, partly because it would be good for her and I think it's something she could really enjoy. The other part is for selfish reasons, I would love to have someone to run with and I would love it if she understood first hand my excitement over things like new socks or a water bottle. LOL

PS My mom is the same way, she doesn't get my running, she even seems annoyed by it sometimes. She gets mad that I rearrange my schedule for something as silly as running. She may never get it but I don't let it get to me anymore.Alliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08707434221124126774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162997883019077328.post-69257558616160526062010-01-26T08:23:56.797-07:002010-01-26T08:23:56.797-07:00I would get a whole group of women who are pretty ...I would get a whole group of women who are pretty sure they could never run, and start them running. Actually I did this once in a limited way and had a Running 101 sort of thing but the weather was not cooperative. The hardest part is to get them to believe in themselves long enough to show up for that first meeting. I may do this again sometime. I think that there are a lot of women who "secretly" have the desire to become a runner but their lack of faith in their ability is standing in their way!Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12949942209284867717noreply@blogger.com
