Forgotten Shorts

Driving to the hotel last night I was checking out the roads and terrain to determine if it was safe to run and where to run.  I like to walk out the door and run wherever I'm at as compared to finding a running path.  Very green, rolling hills surround the hotel and while the rain would make it cold and not perfect conditions I was looking forward to my run in the morning.

Waking up early, I started to get ready to go for a run and realized I forgot my running shorts.  No shorts!  How did I manage that one.  I briefly considered running in my underwear but quickly ditched that idea.  I had 2 pairs of sock, 2 sports bra's, 2 shirts and ZERO shorts.

I'm confined to my room doing exercises watching an Infomercial about the Shark Steam Cleaner, which looks to be a pretty good cleaning product.   Anyone have one?

I'll need to go to the store tonight to find a pair of shorts, unless I just don't run for 3 days.  One of the reasons I was looking forward to a run is because I don't eat that great while traveling and need to run to burn off those extra calories.  Making smart food choices while traveling is tough.  I look at foods on a menu and want to try different things or foods that I like but don't allow myself at home.  What tips can you give for eating when traveling?

That sucks!!!! I've done the same thing. I forget sports bras, and once I packed my husband's singlet instead of my own, so I had HUGE arm holes!

Running in your underwear would probably not the best idea.
Food when traveling is a problem. If this is a car travel then most grocery stores and a cooler solve it.
If your hotel has a fridge (many now do), even if tiny, again, your problem is solved.
Otherwise, you are doomed.
Of course there are healthy restaurants but they are very few and it is a challenge to find them.

I agree except I have a problem eating good at home also :(! Sorry about the forgotten shorts, maybe the suitcase ate them like the dryer eats socks!!!

I once forgot to put on my running shorts under my tracksuit pants and when I pulled them down at the race I got the shock of my life! It was a 15km so I ran in my tracksuit pants. I've never forgot that again.

I avoid oily foods and anything I'm not familiar with or not sure about the ingredients. My stomach can be very sensitive so I make a point of it to be careful.

I nearly always forget something when I travel!

Eating when traveling is very difficult. Since portions are so huge I try to eat less/half of whatever I have. Also ask for healthier substitutions/sides. For dinner I always start with a salad or a healthy soup to fill me up faster. And no matter how often I want dessert I try to limit it.

That sucks about your shorts! Hope you're able to find some...

I usually don't eat the greatest when I travel (I know, no help) but I also tend to do a lot of walking so I don't feel so bad if I indulge a little.
