Speed Work

I made it out to track last night with the club and it felt great to be running with them.  There is always something working out with a group that makes it better.  Not only is the social aspect great but I run faster and push myself harder.

Track started at 6:30pm but I forgot and got there at 5:45pm.  I took the 45 minutes and ran 2 really slow warmup miles and got good stretching in.   The workout was 3 sets of 6x150 with a 15 second break and a one lap walk recovery between sets.  The workout went fast and although I'm not able to keep up with the group, I was able to stay right behind them by cutting my 15 second recovery a couple seconds short.

The workout gave me some of my lost confidence back and I want to try and make more workouts with the group.

Hi Christina,
Thanks for the follow on my blog. I need to do some speedwork but I don't look forward to it. Nice that you were able to do so well in yours. Looking forward to getting to know you. I'm a new follower.

Good job staying right behind the group! I'm tempted to ask around here to see if there's a track group workout, but peeps around here are super-speedy. I'd be left way behind :)

I always dread speedwork before hand. Then once I get started, I love the feeling of moving fast. (fast is relative of course)
