Ramblings

I got positive feedback from my ramblings post.  Although I haven't the slightest idea why.  In English class, heck in any class and in life, anything you do is supposed to have purpose and structure.  Me rambling does not have focus and flow and certainly no structure.  So you asked for it, here's another ramble.

Validation on comments can be very frustrating.  First, why the heck can't Blogger actually use real words to enter for validation?  Come on now, use your big boy words. No, instead you get ugunlaricle and wagilast.  What the???  A pet peeve of mine is when I leave a comment, hit enter and start to move on to another screen and then I see the box that asks for validation.  Come on, why didn't you have the little validation box when I originally left the comment. In some cases I've left the page and noticed too late the validation box was empty.  Now some poor blogger won't know that I left a comment.  I know tragic! I usually go back and retype the comment so all is not lost.  I took off my validation for my own comments awhile ago and I have gotten a couple funky spam things but it hasn't been excessive. I also have some anonymous person that leaves me comments.  They've been nice, positive comments but I have no idea who it is.  Secret admirer or stalker?

In an effort to be more regular I'm going to add more prunes into my diet. If you read my 5 at 5 post earlier this week, you'll have read that I had a really uncomfortable run and I was considering fertilizing the bushes.  I think the pizza the night before messed up my system and its still rebelling.   Are you the type where you believe if you share your fears they will come to fruition?  My latest worry is that I'll have a 5 at 5 type of run during my marathon. So I have to figure out the getting to being regular in the next 36 days.   Now I need to decide how many is one prune too many?

I admire the bloggers like Tall Mom who can have High Five Friday's and Test Lab Tuesdays.  Everyday has a purpose.  I personally can't stick to a schedule and enjoy the flexibility of posting whatever, whenever. Since Friday's are my off day for running, I could make it rambling Friday or something like that ( I would need to find a word that started with F) but that would be too much pressure.  I guess a true ramble is whatever, whenever.

My final ramble is on February 14th, after my marathon, I'm going to eat two donuts and have Baileys on ice.  One donut with maple frosting and the other with white frosting with rainbow sprinkles on it.  And I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.  People at work are very kind bringing in donuts but don't they know I have a BQ to run and I don't need extra temptation?  Chocolate is bad enough but having donuts tempt me too?  It's almost too much to handle.  Glancing over my shoulder to make sure no one sees, I gently open the donut box (thank goodness it doesn't squeak like a door), eyeball the donuts, smell the deep fried grease, sugar and yummy goodness, sigh very loudly and stomp back into my office.  February 14th can't come soon enough.

Happy Running!

I'll be happy to eat a donut for you! I'm not going to BQ any time soon! And I do quite like your rambling posts!

Rambling will not get you an "A" in school but it's perfectly fine for blogging. You have a nice writing style and you're enjoyable to read.

I have no idea about the prunes but I PROMISE you if you add "All Bran" (the "Original" that tastes like cardboard) to your diet, regularity will be yours, thus saving you from the dreaded "5 at 5 curse".

Oh donuts. They are evil little suckers. But those two after Feb 14th will be the best tasting donuts you've ever had!

Oooh these last few posts have been great (not that the others weren't)! I have not been out for a morning run since coming back off holiday, and reading your post is a timely reminder I should get moving. The prunes are a good way to go, and I think maybe no more than 3.....
As for the doughnuts...hmmm well, they are hard to resist, but what a great treat to look forward to!

Happy the anon person revealed themselves!

I hate comment validation! Especially when it is so distorted you can't read it!

Dried apricots do the trick for me :) Hope the prunes work for you!

haha i feel the same sometimes about verification words. mostly in the embedded comment box and when they pop up after the fact.

won't prunes make the bush-yearning stronger?

Thanks for the advice - I had a good run today. Not the best, not the longest, but I had to work at it.....and that is what I seem to have forgotten! Wow so you had 3 weeks off - I thought 2....whilst I am sorry for your sprained ankle, I felt really felt encouraged reading your words...and feel that I can still do this.
By the way, if no prunes are to hand, an espresso (short and strong) works very well too. However, if you are slightly immune to them, you may need 2! Have a Happy Monday!

Donuts...mmmm donuts...thank goodness Krispy Kreme closed here. I'd be in trouble. I'd eat a dozen for you.

Re word verification-my husband heard an interesting story on the radio about captchas and how they actually DO serve a purpose to help digitize old books. Check it out:

I like the rambling. As far as worrying about the marathon and not needing to hit the bushes........get up in time to drink coffee. That should do it.

Workplaces are the worst for temptations. I wish more people would bring in clementines and bananas and stop teasing me with baked goods! You are almost there!

I love your ramblings!!! I have not been able to post comments the last few days, but I have been faithfully reading your posts! Love them! You write the way my mind thinks...;)
BTW, I will be in AZ from the 14th-19th for the R&R half marathon. Would love to meet up with a fellow bloggy runner if you have time!
