Tonights Track Workout

Before I launch into my workout tonight I wanted to share that the jogger that was hit by a car on December 26th died 5 days later.  As an emergency room doctor he was committed to helping others and per his wishes he donated organs helping 4 other individuals.  Although I never met him, he had a positive impact on my life and has made me be more aware of my visibility while running.   Here is the obit if you're interested.

Now that I've updated you on that sad news, my workout is so very meanlingless.   I originally had a title of Nailed It! but I've lost enthusiasm for it.  I'll leave it at that is was a great workout with 800's and exercises in-between.

Now go spend some time with your family and tell them you love them.

Happy Running!

I'm so sorry to hear about the runner. May he walk with God and may his family be comforted.

Very sad news. I hope his family takes comfort in the fact he saved other people's lives with his generosity. May they find peace.

Poor guy. I am happy to hear he was an organ donor. My uncle died unexpectedly and we all felt better knowing his organs helped other people live.

Heavy post. One time we were running Moab's Canyonlands Half Marathon and while we were waiting at the finish line for the others to come in, a 42 years old woman fell to the ground, 150 yards (or so) from the finish line, and died. I think of her every time I run that race. Anyway, when she went down, we were concerned it might be part of our party so we went over there and as they worked on her and then loaded her into the ambulance. It was heavy on my mind for a very long time. Now, after seeing how so many people do NOT age successfully, I've seen a different angle to these sort of things. Running into heaven doesn't sound so bad but it's still very difficult for those left behind. Also, a good reminder that everyone should wear ROAD ID too!

May he rest in peace....

My daughter was just telling me about another runner who was hit by a vehicle and is in serious condition. We were talking about the need for ID which neither of us run with. I know I am not as careful as I should be. Thanks for another reminder.
