You often regret the runs you don't do, but rarely regret the runs you do. Happy Running!

Weekend Long Run and Workout
Now that we've moved, we can participate in group runs along the canal. Saturday's run was to meet at 7:30am and then go to Vincent's for breakfast. It was my first time to Vincents and on the weekend there is a farmer's market. I love farmers markets. The friendly bustle of people, the aroma's of omelets, crepes and pizza remind me of Europe. I settled on a fresh baked scone (although pizza was also calling my name) and some water. My only complaint was there was no chai tea. The group of people we run with are a bunch of lawyers and really great people. Now you may think that lawyers are boring but one thing that I've learned working in an accounting center with anal accountants, is that every group is interesting and diverse so I find the lawyers and their cases really interesting. Plus, they are runners and all runners are great.
I ran 9.5 miles and started off way too fast. Starting out like its a race usually happens when I run with others, especially if they are men. I want to keep up and not slow them down. I kept their pace for about a mile and finally claimed you guys go ahead. Guess what, the pace was kind of quick for them too and we all slowed down (some).
I have a left leg quad/groin thing that is lingering now for about a month. It seems to be getting worse so I opted for a bike ride on Sunday only to find out the bike tire was flat and it was starting to rain. I debated skipping any type of exercise but deemed I needed to burn some calories and used the elliptical while listening to Phedipidations podcast.
Happy Running!

Sounds like a cool group...I love the idea of running and then heading out to breakfast! Must try and organize something like this :)
that's awesome that you have a group to run with. too funny that a lot of you were trying to keep up with the other thinking that you were slowing everyone down!
How nice to be able to run in a group!
I love your blog. :o) The Farmer's Market is super-cool. I don't get to mine often enough. That is because it opens early and usually closes by the time I'm getting out the door for the day.
I learn so much from you!
Thanks!
Funny how everyone in a group often run faster than they want too. This usually gets better when you start to know each other well.
Hope the niggle goes away soon.
Have a good week!
It makes the run so much more fun when you know their is food and drink at the end...that you don't have to make!
Ricotta Cake Recipe:
Prehead oven to 375 degrees.
Grease a 10 inch spring-form pan (I used olive oil spray) and dust with flour, fine crumbs or finely ground nuts (I did cashews blended up in my magic bullet).
4 large eggs, separated
2 pounds ricotta cheese
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. almond extract
3/4 cup sugar
dash of salt
1/3 cup unbleached flour
1/2 tsp. grated orange or lemon rind
Beat egg whites until stiff.
W/out cleaning blade beat ricotta, egg yolks, sugar and flour; beat well. Stir in extracts and then fold in egg whites, transfer to pan.
Bake 50 min. Turn off oven, open door and leave cake in for 15 min. Cool completely (Peter and I liked it better cold). I also forgot to put in the flour and vanilla - it was still delicious. The warm raspberry sauce was great on it too!
I don't even want to know how fast you guys were going at the beginning of that 9-miler. But I'm jealous of the group running. Always fun!
PS: Thank you for the nice things you said about my writing blog. :) And I'd love to read your writing.
