Saturday Long Run

John runs fairly consistently with 3 other guys and living by the canal they can now start/stop at our house and have coffee afterwards.  This is a great arrangement for me, not only can I drag out my Keurig coffee maker but I can bake and have 4 willing guinea pigs.  Last night I made a cherry tart from a Pampered Chef recipe book and I should have taken a picture before it was eaten instead you get the leftovers. You get the picture...it was yummy and is almost all gone ( I can't seem to get the picture to turn the other direction even though the pic was taken landscape...ideas?)
There was a Kappa Kappa Gamma "One Mile Walk" going on by the Biltmore.  They were all wearing blue shirts walking along with their water, hair and makeup perfect.  A mile! Please!  Complete with t-shirts too.  The good thing is it was probably a fund raiser and it did get people up and out walking.  A couple woman were carrying signs where their donations went to and how many kappa's they helped and gave scholarships too.  A couple older women were dressed in big, fluffy dresses carrying parasols.  That was cool.   I was never popular or cute enough to even consider joining a sorority in college and thought they were stuck up.  I guess I never discarded that thinking.

Anyone have roses?  I'm not very knowledgeable about roses but I do know that perfect round holes in all the leaves can't be good.  If it were a tomato plant I'd know to look for a tomato worm, a big green, fat worm but on roses I don't know.  I also don't know if the flowers should be curling like this, but the edges are a deeper pink so I wonder if its not the characteristic of this kind of rose.  I've tried a bug spray from Home Depot without success. I want to be one of those people that someone says
Your Roses are So Beautiful.
Beautiful is not a word I'd use to describe my roses.  Any ideas?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner for some bug?

Curled edges on the roses, normal?

Happy Running!

Coffee and cherry tart post long run sounds just about perfect to me! Don't know a thing about roses, so I'll stay quiet on that!

My son's girlfriend is a Kappa Kappa Gamma from Oregon and they are affectionately known as "Visa Visa Mastercard". I don't think she falls into this category though, but yo never know.

I'm all about anything cherry. That tart looks yum!

good luck figuring out what is going on with your roses. I kill nearly every plant I buy so I am of no help!

A cherry tart is perfect to recover strenght after a run. Instead of coffee I prefer a gatorade or similar drink. I never had problems with my roses and bugs but I ask and I will let you know.

I couldn't even make it through the tour of sorority row my freshman year. Ah well.

I kill all our plants, so I'm no help with the roses :(

Maybe your roses are sorta like the swiss cheese variety? You may be on to a serendipitous rose discovery!
