Giveaway - Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative

John, my boyfriend, works for Banner Alzheimer's Institute (BAI) and they are having a contest to encourage people to sign up for their Alzheimer's newsletter.  At the Banner Alzheimer's Institute they are making great strides in learning about the disease and working towards preventing it and they want to get the word out to people.  To help him win, I'm doing my own giveaway to encourage people to sign up for the newsletter, tweet and put it on Facebook.  You can opt out at any time from the newsletter. Thanks in advance for your support.

Giveaway
Ends February 11th at midnight.
The winner gets a Power Balance pendant. The hologram is touted to increase core strength, balance and make you super human (ok, my words not theirs but I think I heard a sales person say it). This is new, in the box, and I just got it from the PF Changs Expo and retails for $35 (so it must work, right?)

To enter, leave a comment for each one you do.... increasing your chances to win:
1. Sign up for the newsletter by clicking here.  Enter CARTER in the referral code so John gets credit for the newsletter.
2.Post about the giveaway on your blog
3. Facebook post - Mention the Giveaway
4. Facebook post - post the following:
Alzheimer’s disease is an unacceptable problem. We need to find effective ways to reduce the risk of developing symptoms, or maybe even prevent it, as quickly as possible.  Show your support for ending this terrible disease by clicking here for the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative email list (or visit www.ADPrevention.org) and entering CARTER  in the Referral code box.  Please repost this!
5. Tweet about the giveaway at www. lazybonesrunning.blogspot.com
6. Tweet: Support our efforts to end Alzheimer’s disease by signing up for the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative email list www.ADPrevention.org, referral code “CARTER”

Here is the memo from BAI.

Dear Friends and Family,
Alzheimer’s disease is an unacceptable problem. We need to find effective ways to reduce the risk of developing symptoms, or maybe even prevent it, as quickly as possible.

The Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative (API), which is lead by Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, is intended to help do just that.  We believe that the greatest roadblocks to eradicating Alzheimer’s are the current scientific methods, funding mechanisms, and public policies needed to evaluate promising prevention therapies as quickly as possible.

I am asking for you to help support the API by:
·         Clicking here  to sign up for the API electronic mailing list (or visiting www.ADprevention.org), and entering CARTER in the “Referral Code” box*.  [j1]
·         Forwarding this message along to everyone in your email address book, ask your friends and family to forward it along, post it on Facebook, and tweet about it!

By signing up for the mailing list you will:
·         Receive timely information about the project
·         Be among the first to hear about opportunities to participate in innovative clinical studies and research programs.

Your information will not be shared with anyone and you can unsubscribe at anytime.

We need your help in reaching others who share our mission of ending Alzheimer’s disease without losing another generation!
Thank you for your help and support.

I am usually not much for giveaways but my mom suffers from Alzheimer's. I signed up for the newsletter - who knows, maybe I will learn something more.
I don't do Facebook or Twitter but that's ok. For me it is really not about a pendant.

Great giveaway in support of a social cause, Christina! I'm so sorry that I'm not a facebooker, but I'll post about the giveaway on my blog.
Have a nice weekend!

I'm not really into the giveaway thing, but Alzheimer's is a worthy cause. I see the devastation this disease brings to some of my hospice patients and their families, & it's heartbreaking.

I did sign up for the newsletter - if there's anything that can be done to prevent Alzheimer's, I'd like my friends/family/patients to know.
