Just to prove that I'm not a total baby dealing with this sprain I figured I'd post a picture now that the bruising has seriously set in. I have twisted my ankle many times and shook it off and finished a run. I may have even bruised a little bit. But nothing like this. My foot is still swollen 4 days later, it is bruised on both sides of my feet and up my leg. Even my toes are swollen and are now turning purple.
The really good news is although it looks horrible, I can walk on it. I can't fit a shoe on it yet because of the swelling but I was wondering if this would now be a good time to try barefoot running. j/k.
Update: I bought a book "guaranteed" to get over the sprain quicker than RICE. While I was underwhelmed by my recovering (I expected overnight results), it did help some. Send me an email and I'd be happy to forward you the PDF. cheinle at cox dot net.

Oh that looks awful and I saw it the day you did it. I'm glad you are able to walk on it now though.
