Let the Traveling Begin

The project I've been working on for work is getting close to implementation and I'll be traveling to train the new process.  I'm excited to travel and yet dreading it at the same time.  Its tough being away from home and when I do get back home there is so much to get caught up on.  I know I'm getting ahead of myself.

I was in Salt Lake City over the weekend (non work related) and got to do a great run along the river starting in Murray. Despite my reluctance the first 3 miles of the run (you know, the I can't do this thoughts), it was a great 10 mile run after I got past the first 4 miles.

I'm now back home from SLC and have the day off from work.  I went for a 6 mile trail run in the preserve by my house and walked up the hills.  I was walking so slow the Garmin did auto pause because it thought I stopped.  These trail runs will make me stronger, especially for Wasatch Ragnah in Utah in June. When I got home I  learned that one of the rentals needs Roto Rooter to come out (sigh).  This is just one of the rental issues I have to deal with today.  My next task is to to unpack and pack at the same time to head out tomorrow to Pomona, California for three days.  It's only 10am and I know there is still many, many hours in the day but I feel overwhelmed with everything I want to get done which contradicts what I want to do, which is sit in front of the TV and do nothing.

Next week I'll be home in Phoenix, no traveling yet, and the following week in Colorado. The great thing about traveling is being able to run in other places.  I probably won't get in as much running because of the mornings/evenings being on planes but I'll fit some in.  I also enjoy the hotel time because I can read and blog in the evenings.  I also have to fit in all the work I didn't do during the day because I'm in training or meetings but I do enjoy the quiet time in the hotel.

Happy Running!

I'm not a very good traveler but I think running can make it much better.

Be sure to take care of yourself while out there traveling!

I love to stay in hotels.

Have fun running in new places! I know California is really beautiful right now (except today, big storm in this area).
