Have you ever had to be picked up on a run?
One friend of mine called her hubby to come pick her up. She didn't want to run up a hill with the stroller and it was hot out. He told her no and she had to run up the hill anyway. Another friend had to go poo, called her hubby and she was picked up and brought home.
Me, I've called a couple times. Once, I was having IT and foot issues and I asked a service guy working on the side of the road to use his cell phone. My call went into voicemail. My boyfriend got the message and drove around looking for me but something happened in communication of direction or road or something and I ran/walked home anyways. Another time was when I sprained my ankle and needed my brother to come pick me up because I couldn't get a taxi. That story is here.
What about you? What are your stories?
Happy Running!

I've had to walk home, but haven't had to call for a ride yet. Closest I came was at the halfway point of the Richmond marathon.
Oh, I have totally called for a ride home! I over did it a few times when I would run to the gym, do a few miles on the dreadmill, weights and then want to run home. Only, my gym is about 4 miles away - and I always think I can do it! But NO! Those 4 miles are rough!
And, I've called when I had bathroom issues! LOL! I always carry my phone!
Yep-but from strangers after getting lost in a mess of old logging roads. Not smart for sure. They were nice enough to lecture me on the perils of mountain running and every piece of survival equipment I should have had in my pack. :)
not yet.....really hoping I didn't just jinx myself.?! ;)
No pick up yet, but like joyRuN, I've walked home after coming up lame during a training run.
I've never had to call or anything like that. Once in a marathon a friend did pick me up at the 34km (21mile) mark. It was 33°C (91.4F) and I dehydrated completely. She just happened to drive by and saw I was in big trouble.
I use a Kodak C180 camera for my running.
No, but I have been VERY VERY Close.
Two times I've had to call my husband. The first was winter and the most horrible ice storm blew in. My eyebrows iced over and I couldn't feel any body part after 8 miles. The 2nd time b/c I left early to get a longish run done before work and I didn't move fast enough and needed to get home to call into a TC.
i didn't HAVE to, but i've been picked up before. haha. i was lazy, it was raining, and i had brought my phone with me. if i didn't have my phone, i would've toughed it out. i'm weak sometimes.
